"I am Jasper Olaybar of Payatas, Quezon City. I was still in fourth grade when I joined a tutorial headed by 2KK volunteers. They provide tutorials on different subjects and we play different games. But I never expected to be sponsored by 2KK that's why I was very happy and proud of myself. It's a big help for me and my studies. They give me money and school supplies every start of the school year. When there are no classes specially during summer vacation, they teach us and take us some place nice. We already went to Echo Park and it was full of fun there, specially the magic show. We're very happy because we were together and united. We also went to Noah's Park and entered its Funbarn; we explored that park in groups. I also volunteered for PPCRV; it's an exciting moment for me. I'm also proud that Ate trusted us though we don't have experience on those things. I felt sleepy that time but I still continued and we're all happy specially because it's for our country's future. Last July 24, we went to UP Diliman and we introduced ourselves to other members. We also had different games and even if we lost, for me we are all winners because we all enjoyed.
2KK is also an inspiration to me. I'm also thankful because I became part of the Foundation. It's not only for myself but also for my family, specially that my family is financially deprived. So even my family is thankful for the members of 2KK. I will work hard on my studies the same way that they are working hard to help us.
Thank you and may the almighty God always guide all 2KK staff and members."
"I am happy to spend my Friday mornings with Kapatid Foundation kids. I feel blessed every time they express their thoughts to me. Working with them and discussing activities with them make my day happy."
Hi! I'm Mareo Donato and I'm so happy to tell you the story behind my cooperation or involvement with Kapatid. When I was in third grade, 9 years old, I joined the sponsor called Kapatid. As early as my first day in Kapatid, I already gained many friends and met ate and kuya. Also, during the first day, they already stretched my brain but I learned a lot. The games after the tutorial were also fun. We also danced, sing and ate. After all the fun during my first day, ate and kuya said goodbye. During that moment, I was so sad because I felt that I will no longer see them, but I was so happy when they came back with more ates and kuyas and more kids joined to learn and play. At times, we would go somewhere for field trips. I am very happy to be part of Kapatid because I can learn a lot and meet different kinds of people. But sometimes we need to handle are younger co-sponsor because sometimes ates and kuyas are not around. But we're okay with it because they said we will be the ones to take care of our co-sponsors.
Now I'm 2nd year high school and it's been a long time since I joined Kapatid. I'm so thankful to God because he gave me an opportunity to have ate and kuya and sponsor who's enthusiastic and always helps us. Thanks kapatid!
"I am so happy to become part of the 2KK (Kapatid) Scholars because its an interactive foundation that not only helps us to finance our studies but also to live our lives properly and spend it in a valuable way. It is so much fun as I gain more experience-filled events. The people here are so accommodating and hospitable. One of its characteristics is that a person will really feel belong to Kapatid; that's how I feel when I became part of the foundation. It's an honor because I am proud to say that I am a Kapatid scholar. I'm very much thankful. The activities that we do inside this foundation are so interesting to do. 2KK also let us to mingle with other volunteers of the foundation, which is a factor for us to grow and learn from all of this experiences. It's not only me, but my fellow scholars and volunteers also enjoyed all the activities held in this foundation, which allow us to make everyone our brothers and sisters. This experience cannot be vanished away because it's instored inside of us. As I mentioned a while ago, this foundation finances our studies and in return I study hard because it's not a joke to spend for someone's education. I am in college now and I know what is good and what is bad, what is wrong from what is right. I am specially touched by Ate because she accepted us in this foundation and she even gave her trust to us . It's such an honor. I am very much grateful and blessed to become part of it although it's a risk because we have to study and at the same time be on the foundation to spearhead the Payatas scholars. But of all these things, may we always look on the positive side of life and focus ourselves to Jesus; he will not put us onto shame. It helps me and my family a lot. Thank you for your unfailing support and help. God bless and more power!"
"I am Irene Paula Apolinar, one of the Kapatid Sponsor. I am glad to say that I am fortunate enough to be considered and be blessed by this Foundation be given an opportunity to pursue my studies as well as my ambition and to be productive citizen of our nation someday and also to be of help to others. Being with Kapatid is something that I cannot forget because it's already part of my life and I also treasure it. I am proud that there is a Kapatid that is willing to help and embrace young ones to achieve their goal in life. Hoping I can make it to the finish line of my career with the help of Kapatid. I am now in my 2nd Year – 1st semester of Bachelor in Science of Nursing at Our Lady of Fatima Universtiy. Praying and wishing more powers to the Founders of Kapatid and their Sponsors! God Bless and more thanks to Kapatid!"
"I am Jhon Lesther Pangilinan and I joined Kapatid (2KK) when I was 7 years old. At first I thought it will be boring, but as time went by, I realized that it's fun to be here and that I am learning good values and skills that are helpful to my studies as a student until I became a scholar. I'm happy to be a scholar of Kapatid as it has helped me and my parents because it reduced the cost to finance my studies. I also learned to teach kids and I find teaching kids like me enjoyable because I can share my knowledge. I also have happy experiences like when we went to University of the Philippines (UP) last July 24, 2010; they taught us how to be a leader and we played games like Pinoy Henyo. I am very happy that we won in the contest because we saw our different capabilities and traits. Being a kapatid is really fun.
Thank you very much for your help to us. I hope you can help more people. God bless and thank you very much!"
"When Kapatid first came to Payatas, I was very happy. There are also some teenagers who went to our place to teach us when I was 11 years old, but it didn't last. That's why I'm thankful that Kapatid came. When Kapatid finally came, I was also very thankful because there were volunteers who provide tutorials. I was one of the kids who was tutored on Math, which is one of my favorite subjects. The tutorials they gave were very helpful. Right now, I am one of the sponsors of Kapatid and I am very thankful because it helped in my studies and allowed me to help others because I am now a volunteer. It's fun because we can help kids. Again, I am very thankful for Kapatid. I also pray that more volunteers would join. More power and God bless."
"Kapatid Foundation is such a blessing to me and my family and other family of scholar kids as well. Raising funds to send children in schools, empowering these children to study hard and imparting valuable lessons to us. We are blessed to have kapatids (ate's & kuya's) for sharing their countless support, time and effort throughout the years.
Being a part and scholar of Kapatid Foundation made me realized that I was really lucky and very blessed to be one of the 6 college scholars, aside from their financially help, you can really feel their devotions in helping other people, feel their love and concerns to the elementary and high school scholars. As college scholars we should be the role model for the young scholars, teach and share them valuable lessons, encouraging them to study hard, helping them with their assignments and aparting them with love. Noticing the eyes of these young scholars, you can see the courage and eagerness to make it on the top! By that time, I told myself, I will do my best to achieve my goals in life: to graduate, have a stable job, raise my family and also help these young scholars. I know that I am not that active in participating some activities arranged by Ate but then I know she understands me, I just wanted to do my part first.
I graduated in Our Lady Of Fatima University with the course of Bachelor of Scince in Tourism. There, I developed physically, mentally and spiritually. Now, I am currently working as a receptionist in Tiara Oriental Hotel. I achieved it all because of our Almighty God, my parents, Kapatid, my relatives and my pursuance to help these young scholars. I know God gave it to me because he knows all my plans. And now, I am working hard because it is my turn to help. I hope the members of Kapatid and families of young scholars can understand me that I am still at the bottom doing everything to be at the top. Praying my next journey in life working abroad or to work can surely help my family and these kids. I just need your support, patience and understanding.
I am very thankful to have my Ates with their nonstop help. May God continue to bless us and Kapatid Foundation. Let us always pray to have a fruitful outcome and thank God for the blessings.
Good luck to our young scholars!"
"At first, I don't have any idea about what 2KK is and what its purpose. So, I felt curious on this. My sister-in-law said something about 2KK, she said "Marrey, would you want to have a sponsor to support your financial needs and have a scholarship grant to continue and to start achieving your goals in life? I'll try to refer you in 2KK to Ate. She is the one who is very actively responsible in this kind of community services." I immediately agreed.
Afterwards, before being part of 2KK, I still get something from it. Then given the chance to join 2KK, I attend their activity on PPCRV, this is my first assessment being part of them. We encoded a lot of senatorial and presidential votes. After doing this, I felt more excitement to be a member of 2KK. We were all happy as we finished the last part of the encoding
Then finally, Ate set a date to have their meeting together with all the 2KK scholars. Then, I grabbed this time to talk with Ate personally and also to present myself respectively. I communicated with Ate asking for help with my problem on school needs. By God's grace, Ate accepted and wholeheartedly helped me. She told me all the things I must do as a part of 2KK scholars. Thank you."
"I am Quennie Magallan. I'm already 4 years in 2KK and I was only 8 years old when I tried joining activities provided by Kapatid. I thought we will only do tutorials, but we became sponsors. We don't know what we're doing, we were just playing with volunteers. When we were kids, all we do is play; but now, we do more than playing. We went to Echo Park with many volunteers. It was also fun to the watch magic show because we're many. We also went to Noah's Park and entered Funbarn. But the most fun was when I volunteered for PPCRV. It was my first time to volunteer and though we were sleepy, we continued working for us to help other volunteers there. It was also fun when we went to UP Diliman and we had introductions with one another. They prepared many games for us. In the end, we were all winners. 2KK is important because it gives me inspiration to study hard. My parents are also very happy because I became 2KK's sponsor."
