“I am fortunate to be given an opportunity to pursue my studies as well as my ambition and to be a productive citizen of our nation someday and also to be of help to others. I’m now working as a nurse at the Philippine Heart Center.”

- Ate Irene (Yapak Graduate)

"I graduated in the Polytechnic University of Philipines (PUP) Main Sta. Mesa Campus with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Physics. As a servant-leader that 2KK has molded me, I am now a public servant as Sangguniang Kabataan  (SK) Chairman of our community in Barangay Payatas."

"As a product of 2KK volunteer teaching and scholarship program, I really value education. This education makes me who I am now as a teacher who tries to empower my students. I know I have a long way to go in transforming my students, but little by little I hope I am making a difference."

- Kuya Jasper (Yapak Graduate)

"What we do in life echoes in eternity. This is one of the many learnings that I got as a YAPAK.  Always make a choice to help  out others as this act of kindness will remain to the people you reached out forever. Now, I am working as a autoCAD Operator in Fabriquem Integrated Resources Inc. I am not just trying to make a living, but also make a difference to the life of others through my works.

- Kuya Vic (Yapak Graduate)

"As someone who is underprivileged, poverty can be your classroom, but you are still the adviser to make a choice. Your perseverance is your pen and your dream is your paper. You can be what you want as long as you pursue it. Your family is your bulletin board and your achievements in life will fulfill them. As doing everything for sake of your family can always make sense."

- Ate Renaline (Yapak Graduate)

"We sometimes feel that it might be impossible for us to reach our goals because of so much struggles. But at the end of the day, it is really choice if we will surrender or not. I never surrender for my family and my future. Now, I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Management at the University of Rizal System. I am now working to support my family needs and the education of my siblings. Never give up in life, because there is always hope in everything."

- Ate Genesis (Yapak Graduate)

“Just because you took longer than others, doesn’t mean you failed. It was a very long fight for me as a college student. However, I still made it. I am very thankful to 2KK volunteers and sponsors for helping me out to finish my studies. Now, I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science STI College - Fairview. It could never be possible without  your help.”

- Kuya Mharlo (Yapak Graduate)

"I am honored to be a YAPAK Scholar. Through them, I was able to finish my studies in Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Now, I look forward to help out my family and my siblings so they could also finish their studies and have a better life. Just like 2KK help me to make my dreams come true."

- Ate Quennie (Yapak Graduate)

What sets Yapak apart from other scholarship programs?

TATAK YAPAK: YAPAK scholars pay it forward by volunteering as scholar-tutors through 2KK’s Kapatid Program. The scholars themselves become teachers to their peers.

YAPAK PAMILYA: The Yapak Core Team, through 2KK’s Kapatid Program, works closely with community parent partners in order to work together for the betterment of the scholar. This also allows 2KK to check that the scholars are fulfilling their requirements (i.e. minimum average of 80%)
.

Sounds good!

But where does my donation really go?

100% of the sponsorship goes to the Yapak scholar under the management of his or her parent or guardian, and monitored by the Yapak Core Team.

The funds received by the students are for tuition (college) and other expenses including miscellaneous fees charged by the school, books, materials, research expenses, school uniforms, and living allowance.
