"When I was immersed in the stories and lives of the kids, it became a turning point for me to eventually stay with 2KK and be a Kuya Migi to our scholars, kids and fellow volunteers."E Thank you to all volunteers most especially the 2KK Mentors who have been so generous with their time. We all live very busy and fast-paced lives here in Metro Manila but thank you for still being there even if you are not physically attending sessions, but still caring and hoping for the best for 2KK. I miss those who I haven’t seen for a long time, but I hope you don’t take it against me if I still constantly invite you to come back and volunteer. It makes me really happy if volunteers return because I know for a fact that the kids will be even happier seeing their ates and kuyas once again. In 2016, I started volunteering on my own with 2KK. I didn’t know anyone back then and my sole motivation was to spend Saturday mornings with kids because I wanted to help in the most concrete way that I could think of which is through volunteering. Volunteering with 2KK was as simple as attending a Saturday Kapatid Session. There was no commitment needed, I could eventually come and go like I did in the previous outreaches I joined back in high school and college. I eventually met fellow volunteers and formed bonds with the kids from our different partner communities. When I was immersed in the stories and lives of the kids, it became a turning point for me to eventually stay with 2KK and be a Kuya Migi to our scholars, kids and fellow volunteers.
Hopefully, we get to inspire more volunteers to take the lead and a difference in the lives of our 2KK Kapatids.
